The best restaurant in puerto vallarta, no question. Shocking actually. The food is on another level, this place would shine in any major city, but in PV it immediately sets the high bar for everything else here. The food is unquestionably Mexican, honest to tradition and taste, but with a sense for what the classics could be and transformed into a kind of art. Ingredients are allowed to shine, not buried under salt or excused with heavy sauce. The service was also incredible, attentive, friendly and helpful. Oh and the cocktails were also perfection, balanced interesting and nuanced. Quality, inventiveness and tradition, and delicious!

Future Michelin Star! Amazing food; very flavorful and beautiful presented. Ordered the 9 course meal w/ drinks and our host was very descriptive and knowledgeable of each dish! Also when you’re there you have to order the Mezcal Negroni - a smokey taste topped with flavor and sweetness. Highly recommended!

Absolutely delicious we did the tasting menu. ICU takes Mexican cuisine to the next level. Each dish was carefully curated and presented beautifully. We could even see the kitchen staff looking over to see if we were enjoying the food. We found this thoughtful. The service was fantastic and truly represented fine dining at a high level. Their tequila and mezcal recommendations were also superb. My boyfriend who does not ever eat cooked fish even found the bass outstanding!!! He still talks about it. Overall beautiful restaurant, great food and great drinks. 100% recommend if you are in this area.

We spontaneously booked this restaurant for our anniversary as it was close to where we were staying. Wow was it a perfect choice. The location is beautiful inside with trees growing through the restaurant. From the minute we walked in we were greeted wonderfully by the entire staff. The service was amazing - so attentive, and friendly and helpful. Thankfully they spoke English and helped us navigate the menu with my dietary restrictions. They have an option of 5 course, 9 course and a la carte. We opted for the a la carte so we can try and split more things and we are so glad we did! From the amuse bouche at the beginning which was a little quesadilla with the best black beans sauce I ever had... To amazing squash blossoms in red sauce.. to the sous vide new York filet that was so tender. Try everything if you can. I also forgot to take a photo of the flan we had for dessert but it was the best I've had in all of PV. They surprised us with a celebratory drink and marshmallows to end the night and it was wonderful and so appreciated. Highly recommend this place!

Food critic here. Stars are given based on a combination of quality of food, authenticity, service and atmosphere compared to other restaurants in the city. I will talk here about the best since that is what everyone wants to hear .. We did the 9 course meal with the pairing. The things that gave me goosebumps were: the zucchini salad, the catch of the day, carrots, mole (hoja Santa) and chocolate tamale. The carrots, mole and chocolate tamale were absolute perfection! Flavors go from mild to bold. The wine pairing unfortunately was not the best, but the ones that were a great pair, were the beer with the catch of the day and the wine associated with the carrots. The tasting menu is a tribute to authentic Mexican cuisine, (elevated Mexican) with a Mexican wine pairing. We loved the authenticity of the menu. Even though the wine pairing was not the absolute best we still give in an 10 for the effort of pairing real Mexican wines. So 10 for authenticity! Best cocktail was the “ special cinnamon and rosemary cocktail” (a cinnamon drink that does not taste like Christmas) and the coffee “carajillo” which is a typical Spanish coffee similar to Irish coffee, served with alcohol. (You can order decaff) Loved that the overall flavors were not too salty and not too sweet, just perfect for savoring! Service is great, they have good knowledge of what they serve and very polite. Congratulations to the chef for the authenticity and the team for the knowledge and politeness. We think they deserve 5⭐ compared to other restaurants in the city

This review is for their offsite catering service. I was one of the guests at our friends wedding last night. We had a 6 course wine pairing dinner for their wedding banquet at a beach villa which Icú was in charge of. Every course was so delicious and artistically presented, from the beet salad to beef bourguignon. And then the wonderful chocolate tart for the final course of desserts pairing with Mexican Nebbiolo. It’s not an easy task to do offsite fine dinning as there are many things that might not be in your control. Icú’s team are professionals and they deliver. Because of this, I am definitely going to their restaurant to check out what they can offer and knowing that I probably will love it!
